The History of Respect for Animals
Today we see animal rights activists everywhere. From Green Peace attempting to hunt down a Japanese Whaling Vessel to eco-terrorists letting all the animals escape from a Country Animal Shelter and Pound and then vandalizing it. These of course are extreme and yet humans have quite a lot of empathy for animals and nature as well.
We can watch the Animal Channel with Animal Planet on Discovery Channel TV series and we all felt a bit of sorrow when Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin was stabbed thru the heart by a Manta Ray. But have you ever considered when the first respect for animals was written about?
We have all heard of cave dwellings with pictures of animals on them, but what about the first known actual writing? Well it just so happens that;
The King of Egypt Amenophis IV who later became through a name change; Ikhnaton (translation; Aton is satisfied) in Egypt circa 1375 to 1358 received letters from officials about the concept of a benevolent city. Fair to all, including welfare to all creatures of nature. Although these concepts were implemented they were short lived reforms, nevertheless we see these same concepts today in present modern civilization.
